Pastor Jeff saw something struggling out in the middle of an icy pond. He knew he had to take immediate action when he reached the pond he saw a dog struggling to stay above the frigid water. In a world where people seem to take the easy way out and turn their heads pretending not to notice suffering this man showed the ultimate act of kindness.
He wasted no time…he grabbed a rope and prayed the ice wouldn’t break under his weight.
As soon as the dog saw the rope his instincts kicked in and he knew he had to bite down on the rope and let the man pull him up to safety. Jeff’s quick prayer to God was to help keep him safe on thin ice so that he could safely rescue this pup. His prayer was answered and Jeff’s neighbors dog was rescued.
Helping animals in need is the ultimate act of kindness because God’s creatures can not pay us back in anyway. This type of kindness is sure to make a world of difference. The world will be a better place for us and all God’s creatures if we just take a moment to help when we can. We are all sharing this world so isn’t it easier if we help each other?
